Code Is Poetry

Dublin, and indeed Ireland, has a reputation for great writers. WordPress uses the tagline “Code is poetry”. The WordCamp Dublin team has designed our 2019 wapuu to represent our connections with code, poetry, writers and our beautiful Dublin location.

• The book – an obvious choice represents literary talent and education
• We have borrowed some of the famous attire of Irish writer James Joyce
• A stylus/pen – a symbol of creativity
• And the ‘W’ surrounded with Celtic design – a link perhaps to the Book of Kells housed in Trinity College.

A special thanks to Miro Faltinek and Mark Smallman on the organising team who led the design work on our new wapuu.
